Empowered by Joy is knowing and believing that our Father God loves us and our Lord Jesus Christ is in control being empowered by the Holy Spirit regardless of how we emotionally and physically feel. Joy came to me in spending time with my mama all day today. We went to church, had lunch together, visited my Dad’s site, and took my car for a much needed car wash. It’s the little things that bring so much joy! It doesn’t need to be grand moments.
Joy came to me this morning in the form of a text. My son sent me a picture of my toddler grandson standing knee deep in rain water with the most joyful smile on his face. God has sent me this child as a second chance. My busy life as a mother didn't allow for such frivolous play. My "big" job funded my retirement but didn't fill my heart. God isn't done with me yet!

Nice reminder. Sometimes I get stuck in this place too and it's good to know that joy still exists even in the quiet, dark and waiting.
